Nature’s Power Plant
Did you know that enough sunlight falls on the Earth every minute to power the entire world for one year!
The sun is our power plant in the sky, it bathes more energy on earth in one hour than could be used by the entire planet in one year! It doesn’t give off carbon dioxide emissions, it wont run out and best of all its free! So it’s fair to say the last time you checked the sun had not charged you anything to rise each morning; unlike your local utility provider and of course the ever increasing price of oil. With solar you save a tremendous amount of money on energy costs and you are saving the environment for future generations at the same time. Solar and renewable energies also represent a sustainable industry that creates employment and economic stimulus.
How does it work
Basically solar panels absorb energy from the sun, that solar energy gets transferred to your home’s electrical circuits, you then start to produce (and own) your own energy instead of renting it from the power company and all this saves you lots of money every day, month and year on energy costs. So despite the complicated engineering and technical jargon that can be involved that’s basically it in nutshell.
In Cayman we recommend to our clients that they connect their solar array to the grid (via CUC’s ‘CORE’ Program) for the maximum amount of financial and logistical benefit. CUC will then pay you back for the energy you produce at a higher rate than you currently purchase from them. This means you make a profit on the energy the sun is producing for you at no cost.
Lower Electricity Bill
GreenTech Solar can design a solar system to offset any portion of your of your electricity bill you desire, from 10% to 100% and we achieve this by various means; be it roof mount, ground mount or a custom solution such as parking or shade trellis. Whatever your desires for clean renewable energy and lower electricity bills GreenTech solar has the products and expertise to provide.
Traditional electricity is sourced from fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas. When fossil fuels are burned to create energy, they emit toxic gases that are the primary cause of pollution and global warming. Not only are fossil fuels bad for the environment, they are also a finite resource—their limited availability creates a volatile market in which energy prices can skyrocket in a short period of time.
Solar power systems derive clean, pure energy from the sun. When you install solar, you help to combat greenhouse gas emissions and global warming and reduce our collective dependence on fossil fuel and at the same time reducing your own living costs.
Solar Reduces Air Pollution
When fossil fuels are burned, particulate matter is released into the air, regardless of efforts to reduce these emissions. The result can affect the environment in the form of smog, and in certain cities, this can pose serious health problems for residents. Also, carbon monoxide is created when fuel combustion is incomplete. This gas is a health hazard, even in low doses. Energy produced by solar systems does not contribute to air pollution.
Coal, natural gas and oil are limited resources, which we are using up at an incredible rate. Developing countries are now adding to the demand for these fuels. Also, oil is used in many ways other than producing energy, such as in the manufacturing of plastic products, thus using oil reserves even faster. Solar energy from the sun is unlimited.
Solar Reduces the Need for More Fossil Fuel Power Plants
As the demand for electricity increases, more power plants will need to be built, which can have a negative environmental impact. As more energy is produced by solar systems, the need for more fossil fuel power plants will be reduced.
